With Deep Sadness, We Announce the Passing of Krishna Maharaj
Founder of the Trinidad & Tobago School of Photography.
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Krishna Maharaj, veteran media photographer, founder of the Trinidad and Tobago School of Photography, former Chief Photographer at the Trinidad Express, and creator of the InFocus Community Newspaper.
He graduated from the New York Institute of Photography along with the University of the West Indies in Professional Photography. He has worked with all three daily newspapers in Trinidad and Tobago and is the Founder/President of the Association of Media Photographers of Trinidad and Tobago (AMPOTT).
Krishna took pride in mentoring his students, many of whom became his friends after graduating from the institution. Mr. Maharaj dedicated over 50 years of his life to photography and journalism, using his lens to tell stories that mattered. His contributions to the photography industry will never be forgotten.
